Issue #6: March Edition ☘️

As we head into March, a month often associated with the “luck of the Irish,” I’m reminded that the best kind of luck isn’t random, it’s created through community, collaboration, and the ways we show up for one another. This month, we’re leaning into that shared strength.
As we look ahead to a season of growth and a bit of extra luck, we’re excited to share another big development—Anthology is now Blackboard! This transformation marks a fresh, focused chapter built on innovation, accessibility, and a renewed commitment to teaching and learning. To dive deeper into the news, be sure to check out the official Press Release.

Event Spotlight

We’re switching things up this month! Instead of kicking off with a feature highlight, we’re shining a light on Building Blackboard Together 2026, coming to Dallas this summer. The conference includes a dedicated Accessibility & Inclusion track, and we warmly encourage our Ally community members to submit proposals to share the innovations, insights, and stories shaping your accessibility journey.
  • Conference dates: July 13th-15th
  • CFP Deadline: March 23rd

Recently Published Content: Title II Strategy Guide & Playbook

We’re excited to share new content that helps you prepare for Title II and build an accessibility culture that lasts beyond any deadline.
The highly anticipated Title II Strategy Guide & Playbook is now available! This resource brings together practical guidance from Ally users, action steps, and tools to help institutions meet the immediate expectations of the updated rule—and support long‑term, sustainable accessibility practices. Inside, you’ll find simple, action‑ready frameworks for any maturity level (Learn → Plan → Act → Sustain) and a focus on realistic, cross‑team execution, with clear ownership, collaborative workflows, and measurable progress tailored to your institution’s goals.

Upcoming Events

  • Western Region Ally User Group: stay tuned-our next meeting is tentatively set for early April.

Did You Know?

Did you know that Ally’s AI Alt Text Assistant is off by default? This is to support institutions in making decisions that align with their own AI policies and with our own Trustworthy AI Framework. It ensures that administrators have full autonomy to decide whether the feature fits their institution’s expectations around responsible AI use. If you’d like to turn on the AI Alt Text Assistant, or simply confirm whether it’s already enabled, you can review and update its status in your Ally Feature Configuration settings via your admin panel in your LMS. More detailed instructions can be found on the Customize Ally feature flags support page.
