Feature Spotlight: Assisted Remediation with PDF Quick Fixes

Released in August of 2025, the PDF quick fixes have continued to be highly utilized at Ally institutions across the globe. Particularly for those institutions in the U.S. that are facing the upcoming Title II deadline, this feature has proven to be an efficient tool in addressing scanned PDFs and those missing a language and title. In fact, since its release on August 28^th, we have seen over 85,000 PDF quick fixes across the globe! This progress is just the beginning, and we can’t wait to see it accelerate with the next round of PDF Quick Fix improvements on the horizon. We are actively working on these updates as part of our roadmap.

Led by the Ally product team, the office hours are used to review new feature releases, highlight roadmap items, and answer your Ally questions. Fix Your Content Day 2025 Recap

What an outstanding Fix Your Content Day we had this year! Not only did we almost double the number of participating institutions that joined the event, we broke our record in terms of the number of fixes achieved. Now that we have completed verifying the results, we are ecstatic to share that we had 150,747 fixes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In case you are wondering if we included too many exclamation points in the previous sentence, the answer is no, we did not. Not only is this record-breaking number of fixes a testament to your collective commitment to accessibility, it also reflects your dedication to improving the teaching and learning experience for every student. On behalf of the entire team, we would like to extend our genuine and heartfelt thanks to all that participated. How lucky your students are to have you championing accessibility!

Did You Know?

This edition’s “Did You Know?” is a somber one. Alice Wong, a pioneering disability rights activist and founder of the Disability Visibility Project, passed away earlier this month at age 51. Her tireless advocacy amplified disabled voices and reshaped cultural narratives around accessibility. Wong’s legacy, including her memoir Year of the Tiger and initiatives like #CripTheVote, continues to inspire all of us working toward inclusion.

Did you Know that Alice Wong conceived of the term disabled joy to affirm that disabled lives are full of meaning, humor, and celebration, challenging narrow narratives about disability? Disabled joy isn’t about finding these experiences in spite of disability, but through it, recognizing the pride, connection, and community that emerge from disabled life itself. Let’s honor Alice Wong’s legacy by taking action: read Disability Visibility and other works by disabled authors, use Ally to address accessibility issues in your course content, speak up for accessibility in your community, and actively challenge ableism wherever you see it, embracing and uplifting disabled joy as a vital part of that work.
