Anthology’s CRM Magic in Orlando

Published
Great things happened in the hottest place to be this summer – Anthology Together, not Orlando – where higher education professionals saw the magic of what’s possible to transform enrollment, student support, and institutional advancement with human personalization at scale. Anthology Together is over, but the announcements made at the conference continue to make waves across higher ed.

Curious to know more? Here’s a snapshot of the major Anthology® Reach announcements made at AT24.

Elevating Student Support with LMS Insights
Retention magic happens when we transform data into actionable insights for student support. Reach now includes academic engagement and performance insights from Blackboard directly in the CRM’s student success workspace. With these insights, advisors can quickly identify students at academic risk, allowing for timely, personalized support interventions that are crucial throughout the academic term. For instance, advisors can monitor individual course engagement, projected grades, and overdue assignments, facilitating early and effective outreach.

Advisors and administrators can also automate follow-up actions in Reach, like sending an outreach email or setting up a meeting with the student, based on signals and thresholds from the LMS data to further streamline workflows for student support and retention.

First AI-Powered CRM for Higher Ed
We continue to take Microsoft Dynamics 365 to the next level to help our customers simplify everyday workflows in enrollment and retention with the help of Copilot - Microsoft’s Gen AI assistant available in Reach. Ask Copilot to identify student segments, create engaging emails and responses to inquiries, automate follow-ups and multi-step communications, and summarize case notes while you focus on supporting more students, more efficiently.

As with our existing AI features—and in line with our Trustworthy AI Approach—the user maintains full control to review, edit, and ultimately approve all Copilot’s outputs.

Operational Excellence for University Advancement
A flagship institution relies on a flagship advancement CRM. With more than 1.5 million activities and $255 million in donations since going live, the University of Washington’s more than 600 users–within the advancement office alone!–and its community of more than two million alumni and supporters are benefiting from the scalability of our state-of-the-art alumni and constituent relationship management capabilities powered by Microsoft Dynamics 365.

By leveraging the robust CRM capabilities and other Microsoft tools and combining them with purpose-built workflows and analytics for institutional advancement, our customers are effectively improving donor relationships, creating engaging fundraising campaigns, and raising the alumni and constituent experience to new heights with a single solution.

“One of the most important factors driving our success was the true partnership we have with Anthology. The team at Anthology listened, understood our objectives, and worked collaboratively to deploy the solution in a way that fits our needs today and into the future, and it is already achieving success.”

- Michael Visaya, Assistant Vice President for Information Management,
Office of Advancement, University of Washington

Fighting the Enrollment Cliff amid Staff Burnout
Is your institution prepared to fight challenges to institutional sustainability and strategic growth with the same personnel–or perhaps even fewer? Through a unique combination of CRM capabilities and student success services, only Anthology can help institutions identify growth opportunities, generate leads, nurture them through to matriculation, and ensure their support and progress toward academic goals. That’s what we call human personalization at scale.

And that’s what we did for Marshall University. Anthology’s strategic approach to ensure that students have a seamless journey from admission to enrollment and orientation helped the institution face a tough enrollment market, counteract internal staff turnover, and improve inconsistent communication between departments, reversing a trend of declining yield that resulted in an increase of 13.2% in the 2024 freshman class.

“Having those extra touches and building relationships is key to growing enrollment. The help from Anthology to reach out and build relationships made a huge difference.”
- Dr. Beverly Boggs, Associate Vice President of Enrollment Services
and Director of Financial Aid, Marshall University
