Anthology Ally Celebrates Global Accessibility Awareness Month: Championing Digital Accessibility and Inclusion

Published
At Anthology, we recognize the significance of inclusion and the importance of ensuring digital content is equally available to all. Our commitment to digital accessibility is to help institutions break down accessibility barriers and deliver the best inclusive learning experiences.

Let’s celebrate together!
With the purpose of raising awareness about digital accessibility and inclusion, Anthology® Ally is excited to announce the celebration of Global Accessibility Awareness Month (GAAM) in May 2024. We invite everyone to join us throughout the month, when the Ally team will host a variety of activities, including accessibility webinars, course fundamentals, solution demos, and provide resources. These initiatives aim to make a positive impact on inclusive learning around the globe by empowering institutions to understand the main challenges of accessibility and inclusion and to start a journey towards inclusivity.
“Accessibility is an imperative nowadays, and with GAAM, we want to highlight the need to make digital content more accessible. This is a great opportunity to show the world that equity is not about addressing disability or ability; rather, it is about ensuring accessibility and inclusion for everyone,” said Carisa Stringer, vice president of product marketing at Anthology.

Accessibility and inclusion is a journey, not a destination
At Anthology, we treasure our commitment to helping institutions along this path. For four years, Anthology Ally has participated in Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), an annual industry event aimed at getting everyone talking, thinking, and learning about digital access and inclusion. “In the past, we have coordinated events such as Fix Your Content Day (FYCD), but we recognized that a single day wasn’t enough, and clearly a month could generate a more significant and bigger impact.” said Rosario Bruzon, product marketing manager at Anthology. “Thus, while it is still Global Accessibility Awareness Day elsewhere, at Anthology, we have extended it to Global Accessibility Awareness Month.”

Important Notice About Ally’s Fix Your Content Day: After collecting insights from our community over time, Ally's Fix Your Content Day event usually celebrated every third Thursday of May for GAAD, has been moved to later in the Fall semester, a better timing for institutions to participate. So stay tuned for more updates!

Join us during GAAM to learn how to make accessibility a priority and create a more inclusive world for all.
