Protecting Academic Integrity: Native Integration with Turnitin Now Available for Blackboard Learn Ultra Assignments
Published
As part of our ongoing commitment to academic integrity and powerful integrations in Blackboard® Learn Ultra, we’re delighted to announce the launch of a native integration with Turnitin™ for Learn Ultra assignments. Turnitin compares student work against the world’s largest internet, academic, and student paper content database, providing a thorough safeguard against plagiarism.
Instructors can now leverage Turnitin through the process of delivering an assignment in Learn Ultra. When developing or editing an assignment, there is an easy option to enable Turnitin Originality Report. The integrity analysis of students’ submissions is then readily available within the new Flexible Grading interface when the instructor begins grading.

The Turnitin Similarity Report can be accessed from the new Flexible Grading interface
This is an expansion of the existing (TFS) LTI 1.3 integration between Learn Ultra and Turnitin, and it reflects the dedication of both parties to advancing a new 1EdTech LTI asset processor standard in our solutions. For our partner institutions, this means a seamless process to activate the functionality, additional flexibility in the use of the integration, and a high level of data security. Anthology and Turnitin are excited to pioneer and lead the market with this new open standards integration method.
Core functionality offered by this integration includes:
We look forward to your feedback on this integration, as we explore options to further expand this to additional assessment types in the future. Stay tuned to the Anthology Community and Blackboard Learn Roadmap Sessions (and, of course, don’t forget to book your ticket to Anthology Together ’24) to learn more about this and other exciting integrations we’re bringing to market.
