AI Is Reimagining Learning. Experience Blackboard at 1EdTech 2026.
Artificial intelligence is changing not only how students learn, but also how institutions define meaningful learning outcomes. The future of learning is being rewritten in real time, and higher education institutions are under growing pressure to adapt faster, connect smarter, and prepare students for a world shaped by AI.
At this year’s 1EdTech Learning Impact Conference in San Francisco, Blackboard is proud to join the conversation as a sponsor. From June 1–2, education leaders, technologists, and innovators will come together to explore the future of the learning ecosystem. Visit us to connect with our team, explore the latest innovations in the LMS space, and see how Blackboard is helping institutions build more flexible, intelligent, and impactful learning experiences.

Blackboard LMS: AI That Extends Beyond Features

Today’s institutions need more than a platform with AI features layered on top — they need an LMS designed to support the realities of modern education.
Blackboard delivers a digital environment for transformational teaching and learning, serving thousands of institutions worldwide with AI-advanced capabilities, built-in accessibility, an intuitive experience across all devices, and much more, that keep educators and students at the center of the experience.
As the LMS market continues to evolve, Blackboard is leading the market and being recognized as an industry leader in innovation, institutional partnership, and forward-thinking learning technology.

Join Blackboard’s Featured Sessions at 1EdTech

Don’t miss these two sessions led by Blackboard experts and partners, exploring some of the most important conversations shaping higher education today.
  • Eric Preston, Principal Application Architect, Blackboard & Claude Vervoort, Architect, Cengage
  • Tuesday, June 2 | 2:00 - 2:45 p.m. PT
Institutions today don’t just integrate tools; they operate ecosystems. A single course may draw on content from a publisher, a plagiarism service, a simulation platform, and an institutional repository, all connected through LTI. But once that content is placed in a course, the standard has traditionally gone silent. Links age, materials drift out of sync, and when a tool retires content or a publisher releases a new edition, the LMS doesn’t know until something breaks.
The 1EdTech LTI Link and Content Service, and the Platform Notification Service, are designed to close that gap. Together, they provide a standards-based channel for tools to inspect, update, and manage content they’ve placed on a platform, and for platforms to notify tools when something course-side has changed.
This session moves past the spec documents and into operational reality. Through concrete use cases and a live end-to-end demonstration using Blackboard alongside integrations from Cengage and Turnitin, attendees will see what these services make possible: keeping content current at scale, eliminating broken links before learners find them, and supporting the full content lifecycle beyond the first launch.

The accelerating influence of artificial intelligence in education presents both urgency and opportunity. As institutions grapple with how to prepare students for an AI-augmented world, traditional models of teaching and assessment must evolve.
This presentation introduces a reframed version of Bloom’s Taxonomy, updated for the age of AI, that emphasizes identity formation, interdisciplinary synthesis, and real-world impact. Through this lens, educators can shift from fear to framework, leveraging AI not as a threat, but as a tool for deeper, more human learning. Anchored in pedagogical theory, the framework provides a practical, ethical path forward for institutions seeking to lead in the era of AI. This is not just a framework; it is a blueprint for empowering educators and students to thrive in a future that is already here.
